Rand Building in Buffalo

Buyers and Kaczor Reporting is located on the 14th floor in the Rand Building in Buffalo, right next to LaFayette Square (home of Buffalo's summer tradition, 'Thursday in the Square'). The business was established in 1987 by Barbara Buyers and Karen Kaczor as the first 100% woman-owned court reporting business in the Western New York area. Our business began with the two principals operating out of a two-room office, and has grown to include five reporters and two support staff.

We are the only reporting business in the Western New York area to close-caption for the hearing impaired, making us excellent real-time reporters. Since October 1987, we have successfully maintained a contract with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York and the New York State Attorney General’s office since 2002.

We are proud of our accomplishments and services - we feel they are second to none!

Meet the Staff

Barbara Buyers, Owner

Barbara began her court reporting career in April of 1980 working in the freelance field. She obtained her CSR certification in October of 1986 and her RPR certification in November of 1986. In August of 1987, along with her partner Karen Kaczor, they started Buyers and Kaczor Reporting Services, which is still operating today. Karen retired from the court reporting profession in October of 2002.

Barb and Karen did closed captioning for the hearing impaired for 13 years and also did a three-year stint with a hearing impaired law student at the State University of New York at Buffalo, going to classes with him and real-timing the lectures. They are proud of the fact that he earned his law degree with their help.
